South Sudan bus crash kills at least 32, mainly Ugandans | Reuters
(Reuters) - At least 32 people were killed and 10 seriously injured when a bus collided with a cargo truck in southern South Sudan, hospital officials said on Monday.
Officials said it was still not clear what caused the accident early on Monday morning on a road that links the capital of South Sudan, Juba, to Uganda.
Police spokesman James Monday Enocka told a news conference the majority of the dead were Ugandan citizens.
Traffic accidents are common in the world's newest country, where buses are the main form of public transport between towns and roads are often poor.

KATMANDU, Nepal (AP) — Police says two speeding buses collided on a busy highway leaving at least five people killed and several more injured during the busiest travel week in the Himalayan nation.
Police said the buses on the Prithvi highway collided Monday near Simle village about 80 kilometers (50 miles) west of the capital, Katmandu.
The accident blocked the highway for several hours as tens of thousands of people are travelling during the biggest festival period celebrated in Nepal.
The highway is the main route linking Katmandu with rest of the country.
Nepal is celebrating a two-week long Dasain festival where people head home to celebrate with families.
Accidents in Nepal are generally blamed on poorly maintained roads and vehicles.

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — State police say a transit bus caught fire on the Founders Bridge over the Connecticut River between Hartford and East Hartford, but no one was injured.
The fire was reported at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday as hundreds of bicyclists were competing in races in nearby downtown Hartford. The Connecticut Transit bus stopped about halfway across the westbound side of the bridge.
Connecticut Transit officials say there were several passengers on the older-model bus at the time, but all were escorted off safely.
The bus was towed to the Connecticut Transit garage in Hartford, where an inspection is scheduled for Monday to determine the cause of the fire.
The westbound side of the bridge was closed for a short time during the emergency response and cleanup, but is now open.

Authorities in West Tennessee say a school bus crash has injured the driver and 10 children.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol says the bus carrying 32 students crossed a
highway center line and struck a Freightliner truck Monday afternoon.
