Nine remain in a Swiss hospital while other Canadians involved in a deadly bus crash are heading home.

In all, 48 Canadians were on a tour when the bus veered off the road and flipped over killing a retired couple from eastern Ontario.

David Johnston and his wife, Joan, of Brockville died Saturday.

Joan Johnston's brother, Alvin Bennett, says the couple were married for 45 years and enjoyed travelling but were focused on their family.

The couple, who had been teachers, is survived by two children and four grandchildren, as well as numerous brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces.

Swiss officials say those still in hospital are in reasonable condition and no one's life is in danger.

Police ruled out alcohol or speed as a factor in the crash in the Swiss Alps en route to Austria.

Several of those aboard, including the driver, say a motorcyclist cut off the bus.
