Udupi: A major accident involving a bus and a bike in front of Katapady
Kambala field on NH 66 here on Saturday February 1 has resulted in the
death of a policeman and serious injuries to another person who riding
with him on a bike, . The policeman was identified as Sudhir Shetty
(33), son of Tejappa and Gulabi Shetty, residents of Heroor, Brahmavar
belonging to the Udupi district armed reserve,
According to sources, the incident occurred when a private express bus
rammed into Sudhir's bullet bike in front of Katapady Kambala field.
Sudhir and Mahesh were on their way to Katapady from Brahmavar.
The Bullet bike was completely smashed due to the impact. The front portion of the bus was also damaged.
The bus driver has been arrested and a case has been filed at the Kaup police station.
