(FINNBAY) – Helsinki, 12 March 2014. A group of 20 youngsters attacked a bus driver in Meilahti, Helsinki, on Sunday night.
The bus driver asked the youngsters to get out of the bus as they
distracted the passengers. After the driver removed them from the bus,
the group pulled him outside and started to beat him.

The driver had the chance to call the police during the incident and some of the group members were caught on scene.
Police says, he was kicked and hit badly on his face. His injuries
included broken tooth and a swollen eye. He was taken to the hospital
for further examination.
Bus drivers are guided to stay in the vehicle at the moment of a provocation and contact police.

After a brutal attack to another bus driver in 2011, which caused the
driver to lose his ability to work permanently, Finnish safety measures
have been improved in buses by including safety cabin, cameras and
panic buttons, says government spokesperson.
