3 killed, 24 hurt as bus, truck collide in Quezon province   | News | GMA News Online

At least three people were killed while 24 were injured, five of them
seriously, after a bus and truck collided near the boundary of Quezon
and Laguna before midnight Wednesday.

The accident in Tiaong town
involved a JAM Liner bus (Body 202) and a truck (UHX-995), GMA News
stringer Peewee Bacunio reported on dzBB early Thursday.

The
report said the bus driver and conductor, who were initially reported
"missing," were brought to a nearby hospital after suffering injuries.

On
the other hand, the passengers were brought to hospitals in Quezon and
Laguna. Many of them were tourists heading for Marinduque.

An
initial investigation showed the accident occurred at 11 p.m. Wednesday,
when the truck driven by a man initially identified as Arvin Manalo hit
the bus.

Police are verifying information the truck hit the bus after venturing into the bus' lane.

The bus was forced out the highway and flipped over, the report said
