EAST
LIMESTONE, Alabama -- Two students sustained minor injuries when a school bus was
struck from behind, leading to a four-vehicle pileup this morning at U.S.
Highway 72 and Bluebird Way, according to Limestone County Schools.

Schools
were opening late this morning due to frigid temperatures and the collision
occurred at 9 a.m.

According
to a press release from the school system, a car rear-ended the bus when it
made a routine stop.

"This caused a chain reaction
of cars hitting other cars in the rear," the release stated. "Two students
reported minor injuries and parents have been notified. All other students have
been loaded onto another bus and transported to the school
