Bontoc bus tragedy claims life of another artist | Lifestyle | GMA News Online
The losses of the artistic community from the Bontoc bus crash continue
to mount, with the death of graphic and tattoo artist Christian "Mylo"
Cabardo on Sunday afternoon.
He died at the Makati Medical Center from heart failure following the severe injuries he sustained from the accident.
In
a post on her Facebook account, writer and Rock Ed founder Gang Badoy
said Cabardo was airlifted from Bontoc to Manila on Saturday.
"One
of the patients we helped airlift yesterday, he was due for an
amputation (left leg) - we were so happy when he was finally airlifted
to Manila. I just received the news that he passed away," Badoy said on
her Facebook page Sunday.
"Christian Cabardo, sorry ha. Ang saya pa naman namin nung nalipad ka na kahapon. My condolences to his family," Badoy added.
Badoy
and some friends went to Bontoc Saturday to receive the remains of
another casualty of the crash, comedian and social activist Arvin "Tado"
Jimenez.
A Fine Arts graduate of Philippine Women's University,
Cabardo worked as a graphic artist and events coordinator for several
advertising companies.
Meanwhile, the remains of tattoo business
owner Marcial Baranda Jr. now lie at the Holy Trinity Chapel in
ParaƱaque, according to a report of "News To Go". Baranda and Cabardo's
group were reportedly on their way to Bontoc to give lectures to tribal
tattoo artists there about health and safety practices.
Baranda's remains will be laid to rest in Binangonan, Rizal, said the report. — Elizabeth
