An off-duty city bus driver punched a Brooklyn cabbie in the face after
refusing to pay the hack for the Sunday morning ride, police said.
Cops were probing why Jamelel Allen, 35, lost his cool during the 3
a.m. trip through Brownsville and socked the unidentified taxi driver in
the face.
Allen was charged with theft of service and assault. A MTA spokesman
did not return a request to comment on whether Allen’s job was in
jeopardy due to the meltdown.
