n Okhaldhunga, three people died on the spot and 40 got injured, 20
seriously, when a bus heading to Halesi of Khotang from Sindhuli met
with an accident at Sokmatar in Thakle VDC-8 this afternoon. According
to police, the bus fell some 300 metres down the road. The deceased
include 64-year-old Bishnu Bahadur Shrestha, Sabitrimaya Shrestha (61)
and her sister-in-law. According to DSP Govind Adhikari of Okhaldhunga,
the critically injured have been taken to Kathmandu for treatment.
In Dang, a two-year-old Prinsa Gupta of Chailahi-2, Lamahi, died
after she a school bus hit her in Lamahi Bazaar. Seriously injured, she
succumbed to her injuries at the Kohalpur Medical College. Police have
impounded the vehicle and detained the driver. In Jhapa, a 55-year-old
Dal Bahadur Rai of Lalikharka, Panchthar, died in a hit-and-run accident
at Dharampur this morning.
