MUMBAI: In a road rage, a biker assaulted a State
Transport bus driver at Chembur on Saturday. The biker, Amol Poshte
(24), was arrested by the Govandi police.

The incident took
place at Chembur's Maitri Park signal around 6.30pm. The bus driver,
Samadhan Puri, was steering the Solapur-Mumbai bus when a fight broke
out between him and Poshte after he started to honk on spotting Poshte
riding through the centre of the road. He reportedly wanted Poshte to
give way for the bus to pass. Poshte halted at the signal. "He was
infuriated by the honking. As soon as the bus stopped at the signal,
Poshte got into an altercation with Puri. Poshte then hit the driver
with his helmet," said the police.

A traffic cop, who was on
the spot, intervened and sent Puri to hospital. Poshte was arrested for
assaulting a public servant on duty.
