Several people were taken to area hospitals Saturday after two
CATS buses were involved in separate accidents, officials said,
including one person with life-threatening injuries.
The first accident took place shortly before 6 p.m. on North
Tryon Street near Sugar Creek Road, according to CATS officials. No
injuries were reported from the passengers on board after officials said
two vehicles made contact with the bus.
Medic was later called to Rozzelles Ferry Road at 7:22 p.m. after another vehicle collided with a CATS bus.
Officials said three people were taken to Carolinas Medical
Center, one with life-threatening injuries, two with minor injuries.
Another person was taken to Novant Presbyterian Medical Center with
minor injuries, according to Medic.
