Twenty-three people were injured, at least one of them critically, when a tour bus and two vehicles collided Thursday in suburban Rosemead, east of Los Angeles, authorities said.
The accident occurred about 10 a.m. in the 3000 block of North San Gabriel Boulevard, according to Los Angeles County Fire Inspector Frederic Stowers.
"We do not know yet how the accident occurred," Stowers said. "All we know is that a bus and two other vehicles collided."
Stowers said the driver of the bus was "in critical condition" and had been taken to a trauma center along with two others. Seven other people sustained minor injuries, while the remaining 13 patients were treated at the scene and released, Stowers said.
Officials from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Temple City Station were also involved in investigating the accident, said Sgt. Richard Marascola, a spokesman for the agency.
