Several students were taken to a hospital Wednesday for treatment of injuries they suffered in a school bus crash in Oceanside, a police spokesman said.

The vehicle, which had about 30 teens aboard, overturned after it collided with a passenger car, he says. Authorities say at least 8 El Camino High School students, along with the bus driver, were hurt.

It happened on North El Camino Real at Douglas Drive, just before 11:30 a.m..

Emergency crews airlifted one student to a trauma center and took seven others and their driver to other hospitals, the CHP reported. The patients'
injuries, none of which were considered life-threatening, ranged from bumps and bruises to at least one broken bone.

The roadway was closed in the area while the scene was cleared. It was not immediately clear who was at fault in the accident.
