Driver of car that hit school bus is in serious condition

HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. -- Police released new details in an accident involving a school bus that sent six students and three adults to area hospitals.

The accident happened just after 2:30 p.m. Friday in Holly Springs. Police say 19-year-old Thomas Caso drifted into northbound traffic on North Main Street. It happened near the intersection of Crittenden Lane. Thomas then side-swiped a blue sedan and careened head-on into bus 547.

Police say Caso is in serious condition at WakeMed. The passenger in his car, 20-year-old Donald Lee-Guiton, is also still in the hospital.

No charges have been filed.
