Two injured in Holly Springs car-school bus collision

Two men were seriously injured Friday afternoon when their Buick collided head-on with a Wake County school bus on North Main Street, according to Holly Springs police.

The southbound Buick crossed the center line, struck the school bus and clipped a Lincoln sedan in front of the bus, police spokesman Mark Andrews said. The Lincoln spun around and landed in a ditch.

The Buick driver, Thomas Caso, 19, of Fuquay-Varina, and his passenger, Donald Lee-Guiton, 20, of Willow Spring, were taken to WakeMed in Raleigh. Both men were in fair condition Saturday.

The bus was carrying about 40 students from Holly Ridge Middle School. No significant injuries were reported on the bus, but as a precaution, four students were transported to WakeMed in Cary and two were taken to WakeMed in Apex.

No one in the Lincoln was injured.

No charges have been filed yet.
