POWDER SPRINGS, GA. — Powder Springs police say a commuter bus ran into a guard rail after the driver passed out at the wheel, and the driver and three passengers were taken to a hospital.
Police spokesman Matt Boyd identified the driver as 50-year-old Victor Dewhart of Austell. Boyd says the accident happened on a parkway early Tuesday morning with 22 passengers aboard.
Boyd says passengers had noticed that the driver was slumped over the wheel and one steered the bus into the guard rail, then toward the wood line where it came to rest.
Boyd says three passengers and the driver were treated at Cobb Hospital for minor injuries.
