Two people were hurt Friday morning after the driver of a LexTran bus lost control and hit a tree near the Fayette Mall in Lexington.

The accident happened just before 11 a.m. on West Reynolds Road in front of the Meijer store. Police say the female driver somehow lost control of the bus, hit a power line, then hit a tree before coming to rest near a culvert.

The driver and one passenger on the bus were taken to Central Baptist Hospital with what were described as minor injuries.

So far, there's no word on what might have caused the driver to lose control of the bus.
