Cyclist, 12, injured in Lochwinnoch bus crash

A 12-year-old boy was seriously injured when his bicycle was hit by a bus in Renfrewshire.

The crash happened near the RSPB nature reserve on the A760 Kilbirnie Road, Lochwinnoch on Saturday afternoon.

The boy was taken to Glasgow's Southern General Hospital where his injuries are thought to be non-life threatening.

Strathclyde Police said the bus driver was uninjured but was "badly shaken" by the incident. A female passenger was treated in hospital for minor injuries.

A police spokesman said they were appealing for witnesses to contact them.
