A DRIVER is fighting for life after being hit by a double decker bus in a horror crash.
The man, thought to be in his 30s, was struck by the Stagecoach double decker after he stopped his Fiat on the hard shoulder of the M77 near Fenwick, Ayrshire.
Witnesses saw the man on the ground in agony and covered in blood.
The man was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock and was last night said to be in a serious condition.
The driver of the bus suffered head injuries and two passengers were also taken to hospital.
Accident investigation officers launched a probe into the accident.
The motorway was closed northbound as emergency crews dealt with the incident.
