Saudi Arabia

Riyadh - Four Tunisians were killed and 18 injured Sunday when their bus overturned in western Saudi Arabia on the road between Medina and Mecca, a source in the Tunisian consulate said.

The bus, carrying a group of pilgrims, hit an iron barrier on the side of the road and overturned, the source told the German Press Agency dpa.

Civil defence teams transferred the injured to the hospital.

Last month, the General Department of Traffic in the kingdom announced that some 6,142 people had been killed in traffic accidents during the past year.
