A woman has been killed and other 54 passengers injured when a bus with Indian tourists met with an accident Saturday morning at the descent of Daunne in Makar- 4 of Nawalparasi district along the East West Highway.

All the 54 were injured after the brake of the bus failed. Of them, 20 are serious, said the Nawalparasi Police.

The Indian bus (KA 09 A 3344) was returning from pilgrimage of Pashupatinath in Kathmandu. The bus was heading for Karnataka, India.

The deceased woman has not been identified yet, police said.

All the injured are undergoing treatment at the Bharatpur Medical College in Chitwan district.
