airfax County Police suspect a 14-year-old boy in connection with a bullet that hit a school bus full of children Wednesday afternoon. He was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm and shooting at an occupied vehicle.
The bus was near Summit Place and Parramore Drive in the Linconia area at about 3 p.m. when the driver heard what appeared to be a gunshot, police said.
He drove to another location, then got out to inspect the vehicle. He called police after finding a bullet hole near the bus's fuel tank. They determined the bus had been hit by a bullet from a .22-caliber rifle.

There were 31 students from Glasgow Middle School on the bus at the time, police said. None was injured. They were put on a replacement bus and taken home.
Police canvassed the area for more than an hour before they found several dead birds at a house near the shooting scene.
Officers believe the teen had been shooting at the birds, police said. They suspect he may have also been responsible for the school bus shooting. They aren't sure whether the bus was shot intentionally or not.
