A student from the United States has died after she was struck by a Sydney bus on the weekend.

The 32-year-old was crossing the road with friends at Enmore, in Sydney's inner west, around 5am (AEST) on Sunday when a passing bus hit her.

She suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment.

Following the arrival of her parents from the US, the woman was pronounced dead in hospital around 4.15pm (AEST) on Wednesday.

Another woman, aged 20, who was injured in the same incident has been treated for injuries to her legs.
