ASHLAND — No kids were hurt after a Mustang skidded across the center line and hit a school bus on Dead Indian Memorial Road Thursday afternoon, police said.
The Ashland School District bus was moving at a low speed in the 9000 block when the accident occurred, Jackson County sheriff's Sgt. Dace Cochran said.
Cochran said the driver of the Mustang, identified as 64-year-old Tommy Imel, was rounding a curve a little too fast and lost control of the back end of the car.
The Mustang swung into the oncoming lane and hit the side of the school bus, Cochran said.
"There only were two children on the bus and the accident was not high-speed," Cochran said. "No one on the bus was injured."
The accident closed the road briefly as both the bus and the Mustang were towed from the area, Cochran said.
Imel, of Medford, was cited for careless driving and released, Cochran said.
The children on the bus were released into the custody of their parents, Cochran said.
