TAMPA — Hillsborough detectives were investigating the death of a man found shot to death near a bus stop early Thursday.
A passerby discovered Nathan Snyder, 43, about 1 a.m.
The bus stop is in front of Fairview Cove Apartments at Orient Road and Delano Avenue, where witnesses told deputies they heard shots during the early morning hours.
The investigation Thursday morning shut down Orient Road south of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. A school bus driver walked a few children from the three-story apartment complex to their bus, parked a couple blocks away from its normal Orient Road stop.
Sedericka Weeks, 18, said she went to bed about 10 p.m. and heard nothing. Fairview Cove is a nice complex, she said, but she still takes precautions to stay safe.
"Not a lot of drama," she said. "Everybody stays to themselves."
Anyone with any information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477.
