KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A school bus driver who was arrested on the way to pick up students in Knoxville has pleaded guilty to first offense driving under the influence.
Police got an anonymous tip that the driver of a Knox County school bus had been drinking the afternoon of March 23. Officers pulled over 61-year-old Ralph Krueger on Interstate 40. No students were yet aboard the bus, but police said Krueger was on his way to Farragut High School to transport students home.
The Knoxville News Sentinel reported Krueger was sentenced on Wednesday to 11 months, 29 days, but all except 48 hours were suspended.
Krueger's driver's license was also revoked for a year and he must attend DUI school.
Krueger worked for a school bus contractor.
